How Georgia calculates registration

The registration fee itself is only $20, but Georgia collects the real money through vehicle value. Cars acquired since 2013 pay a one-time Title Ad Valorem Tax; older ones pay an annual ad valorem tax at the county tag office. The alternative fuel vehicle fee is recalculated every July.

Renewal cycle: annual.
